Jacqueline Guest is an international award-winning author with thirty published novels, short stories and levelled reading books. She has presented across Canada and the United States to audiences of all ages and has volunteered with the Canadian Organisation for Development Through Education, CODE, in Tanzania and Ghana to teach writers how to create stories in English for young readers. For many years, Jacqueline has mentored new writers and championed literacy for all.
Her award-winning books are unique in that many of the main characters come from different ethnic backgrounds including First Nations, Inuit or Metis. Her well-drawn characters face issues common to every child such as bullying, blended families and physical challenges and are strong role models for today's youth. Jacqueline's historical novels for young readers' present Canada's vibrant past as an exciting read every child will enjoy. Her young adult mysteries address teenage problems in a sensitive way while still providing a great page-turner.
Jacqueline lives on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where she and her computer are currently working on a new novel for young Canadian readers to enjoy.
Jacqueline is the proud recipient of the 2013 Indspire Award for the Arts and in 2017 was honoured with the Order of Canada.
